From her beloved comedies, like the
Pitch Perfect films, to acclaimed dramas such as
Jojo Rabbit, Rebel Wilson has shown she can do it all. Since November, she's been overjoyed about stepping into her latest role: mom to her daughter Royce, whom she shares with her fiancée Ramona Agruma.
"She's just a little angel," the Australian star gushes. "She melts my heart. She just started to say her first word, 'Mum.' Luckily, I reached for my camera and filmed it."
This first year, Wilson admits, is not without its challenges. "It's very difficult to juggle parenting with working, and I'm trying to learn what works best, but I'm so grateful," she notes. "I have such an amazing supportive partner in Ramona. Together, we're tag-teaming it, and so far, so good. It's a lot, though. I'm not watching TV as much, and other things I used to do have taken a back seat. But this is such an amazing time."

Given the complexities of the work-life balance, the proud new mom is enthusiastic about anything that simplifies daily life. That's why she recently partnered with Zevo to discuss conquering "bugxiety" – a term for the fear of bites, stings, infestation, and general disgust.
"As someone who's had malaria, which is from a mosquito bite, if something's flying around, especially at night when you're trying to sleep, it's unsettling," Wilson admits. She finds solace in Zevo Flying Insect Traps, which use UV blue light to ensnare bugs. And she's been reaching for bug spray more often as she spends time outdoors while shooting her latest film,
Bride Hard, in Savannah, Georgia. "There's a beautiful river I enjoy walking near, and bug spray is a must on walks with the baby," she says.
In these everyday moments, Wilson is grateful for how far she and Agruma have come. She confesses that the journey to parenthood was an emotional roller coaster. "When I look at Royce, it was all worth it," she reflects. "In my case, I have polycystic ovarian syndrome, so it was harder to get pregnant. I'm glad it worked out, but I truly feel for women going through IVF, as I know exactly what it's like. You become hopeful, and it's a struggle. It can also be very taxing on your body, depending on the medications you take."

Wilson contemplates the numerous potential scenarios in which she might not have been blessed with her baby girl. After several rounds of IVF, she opted for a gestational surrogate. "That had statistically better odds with the one embryo I had," she explains. "If it hadn't worked out, I would have been proud of myself for trying. It just wasn't meant to be in the universe. But I feel very fortunate that I got this little miracle. When I took her to the pediatrician, who declared, 'She's perfect,' I was thrilled. I'm always amazed that a few cells can grow into an incredible little human."
These days, the nine-month-old Royce has been making "very cheeky facial expressions, which Ramona says are exactly like mine," Wilson laughs. "I do think she looks exactly like me as a baby. And she's mobile, sitting up, doing planks—I don't know where she gets that core strength! Currently, it's a lot about introducing her to new foods, taking her swimming, and keeping her nap schedule, which Ramona is better at."
Wilson feels the universe brought her fiancée into her life "at the exact time Royce was being created, and it just worked out."
Now, the couple is learning how to best support each other and their daughter. "I'm directing an original musical, so I'm very busy professionally," Wilson says. "Ramona has this growing athleisure brand, Lemon Ve Limon, that's going well, but she's the more stay-at-home parent because she can work on her computer at home. I feel very lucky. Ramona is the best, most supportive partner."
Looking to the future, Wilson can't wait for all of Royce's milestones. "I can't wait until she can talk properly, and I can take her to movies and shows and play sports with her," she says, a proud smile in her voice. "I think that's when I'll shine more as a parent."
For now, Wilson is simply reveling in the present. "I'm sure all mothers feel their baby's incredible," she muses. "But I am just really, really enjoying it."
